Napoleon Island is  the longest island close to Kibuye (10km from the town) . We call it Napoleon Island because it looks like the hat Napoleon used to wear.

You will find a big diversity of animals such as :
- bats
- cows
- goats
- other kinds of birds and eagles...
Napoleon Island is also interesting because of its heights. If you are looking for an original spot to hike, you must definitely go to Napoleon Island. When you reach the top of the hill you can enjoy the wide view of the whole Kivu Lake.

Its first name comes from its shape because when you are in sky it has five corners like a star. And second name originated from the monkeys which are found there.
There are 4 monkeys but only one accepts to approach people. It also has different kinds of fruits trees such as: mangoes, guayava, pawpaws, lemon...
Star Island is located between Napoleon island and Peace island

We prefer to call it because of its isolation and calm. You will not find many waves or wind. This peaceful island is the perfect place to camp (authorized by government), to read books, to swim, for kayaking... It 's also a good spot for families, kids will enjoy its spaces to play and parents to picnic.
